When a child is diagnosed with a serious sight problem or a dual sensory loss, it can be a very difficult time for the whole family. There may be deep emotions to cope with as well as practical considerations.
Sight for Surrey fully believes all children and young people have the potential to lead fulfilling and happy lives – whatever their abilities or disabilities.
Our qualified and experienced team ensures that children and young people with vision impairment (VI) or multi – sensory impairment (MSI) and their families receive a creative and innovative service that will assist each child to reach their full potential.
Our service falls into four categories:
- Information and support
- Children’s recreation programme
- Children’s registrations and maintaining the certificate of Visual Impairment register
- Formal mobility and life skills assessment and training
